Things to Do on Koh Tao!
Go Scuba Diving on Koh Tao with DJL Diving!
Koh Tao is world famous as a scuba diving destination. With many shallow coral reefs, isolated pinnacles and even deep ship wrecks, Koh Tao is a great place to dive. That's without mentioning the amazing marine life - reef fish, moray eels, sting rays, even sharks and turtles - you can see it all around Koh Tao.
We have our own PADI Dive Centre at Silver Sands Resort. 'DJL Diving' providing a range of diving services, so, whether you want to learn to scuba dive, or are already certified, we'll provide you with the best possible diving experiences.
For more details on the diving, visit our diving website: Davy Jones Locker Diving.
Relax by the pool or in the Smoking Dead bar/restaurant
All guests are welcome to come and use the pool behind the dive shop, there are frequent BBQ's and promotions on in the bar too. You can check out the gourmet Smoking Dead burger too in the restaurant or just enjoy a nice cold beer.
Go on a Snorkeling Trip around Koh Tao
You have a couple of options when it comes to snorkeling around Koh Tao as you can rent a mask and snorkel from our reception and head down to the beach and explore Sairee Reef or take a long tail taxi over to the Koh Nang Yuan marine park (there is a entry fee to go onto the island there) to snorkel and explore the rich marine life around Koh Nang Yuan. You can also go out with DJL to two different dive sites on their afternoon dive boat where you will be accompanied by a Divemaster on the snorkeling trip. Then there are also multiple all day around the island snorkeling trips that you can book onto at our reception and they will pick you up on the morning to take you the snorkeling trip and bring you back at the end of the day.
You can take a Thai cooking course on Koh Tao, if you aren't on Koh Tao for the scuba diving, the weather isn't great or just want to pick up a new skill. There are a number of Thai cooking schools on Koh Tao, but the one we recommend is Parawan's Thai Home Cooking Class where you will get to cook 3 Thai dishes over 3 to 4 hours at Parawan's house who runs the cooking classes and then get to eat the food that you make there.
